Does your company have ISO 14001 approval, an environmental policy or simply green intentions? Then surely you would want to work with the award-winning, industry-leading, greenest surface engineering company in the UK?
We are proud to have received well-deserved recognition by attaining the Surface Engineering Association’s national award for industry-leading environmental best practice.
What started as a cost-down initiative in response to a price increase in utilities grew into a comprehensive, systematic root-and branch-overhaul of our entire environmental operations.
Environmental improvements, aspects and impacts are now integral throughout our systems and embedded in our strategies. Over the last four years we have invested over £200,000 in improvements, culminating in the installation of 181 solar panels on our roof which have already saved over 60 tonnes of CO2 since their installation.
With LED lighting throughout, hybrid and low emission vehicles and bespoke effluent management, we have embraced our environmental strategy with a passion.
The River Sheaf borders the back of our factory for over 100 metres. We have adopted this stretch of river and riverbank; our employees help to litter pick and maintain this stretch. We are active members of the Sheaf and Porter Rivers Trust.
We employ local people and offer good rates of pay. Induction training includes a section on environmental aspects and impacts. All of our employees are trained to NVQ Level 2 or higher. Training continues through risk assessments and employee involvement. Our employees are health screened annually.
We are focussed on ensuring the services we offer have the least possible impact on the environment.
